Sermon Recap: Acts 2:42-47

The Missional Community

Acts 2:42-47

This week in The Missional Community (Acts 2:42–47), we saw that a healthy local church is sacrificially devoted to God’s mission. The early believers show us that the church thrives when it is anchored in the gospel, growing through God’s Word, prayer, and worship. They also modeled a deep, generous community—sharing life, meeting needs, and rejoicing together. And their life of worship naturally overflowed into mission, as the Lord added to their number daily. Because Jesus gave Himself fully for us, we are called to give ourselves fully to Him—devoted to His Word, His people, and His mission.

Reflection Questions:

  1. Acts 2:42 shows the church’s devotion to God’s Word and prayer. What would it look like for you to grow deeper in these practices this week?

  2. How might you intentionally cultivate community—through generosity, encouragement, or hospitality—in the life of Old Town Church?

  3. Who in your life needs to see and hear the good news of Jesus? How can your worship and witness overflow into mission this week?
