FAMILY WORSHIP

Periodically we close our kids’ environments and invite all ages to be in the worship gathering. We also encourage parents to bring their children to the worship gathering on any Sunday because we believe there is immense value in having children child participate in service with adults.

Below are some practical tips and resources to help you and your child worship together:

Tips for Worshipping Together

  1. Discuss the different elements of the service with your child beforehand. Explain what they will see and why these elements are important. It may be helpful to establish your expectations before bringing your child into the service for the first time.

  2. Remember, your children are observing you. Your own perspective of the service will influence how your child perceives it.

  3. Motivate your children to sing along with the music. Moreover, you can encourage your child to take notes by providing them with a journal or paper. For younger children, they can draw a picture that represents what they have heard. As your children grow older, you may ask them to jot down words they hear repeatedly or any questions they have.

  4. Engage in conversations with your child about what they saw and heard during the corporate worship service. This time allows for numerous opportunities to have gospel-centered discussions with your children.
