Five Years of God's Faithfulness: Celebrating Our Anniversary and New Identity

Today marks a milestone that calls for celebration and reflection. Five years ago, God planted Old Town Church with a simple prayer—that He would use us to help one another know and follow Jesus as we make disciples. As we pause to commemorate this anniversary, we're overwhelmed by gratitude for the faithfulness of our God and excited to share what He's calling us into for the future.

Reflecting on God's Amazing Faithfulness

Over these five years, God has been faithful in ways that humble and amaze us. What began as a small group of believers with hearts full of hope has grown into a true family. We've been privileged to witness:

  • Lives transformed by the gospel

  • Prayers answered in remarkable ways

  • Deep friendships forged in Christ's love

  • The timeless message of salvation taking deeper root in countless hearts

He has sustained us through seasons of joy and carried us through trials. He has drawn people to Himself, grown authentic community among us, and provided for every need along the way. The story of Old Town Church is not ultimately about us—it's a testament to the unwavering faithfulness of our God working in the hearts and lives of people by His Spirit and His Word.

Our Identity: A Young Church with an Old Message

We are, in many ways, a young church with an old message. While Old Town Church is only five years old, we carry forward a message that is ancient, unchanging, and eternally relevant—the gospel of Jesus Christ that has transformed lives for over two thousand years. Like the early church in Acts, we are a new community built on the oldest foundation there is: the life, death, and resurrection of our Savior.

This beautiful tension between our youth as a congregation and the eternal truth we proclaim shapes everything we do. We embrace innovation while remaining anchored to the unchanging Word of God.

Introducing Our New Visual Identity

As we celebrate this anniversary, we're excited to unveil our updated logo and visual branding. But this isn't simply about having something fresh or modern. This new visual identity is intentionally designed to reflect who we are, what we value, and what we're pursuing together as God's people.

At the center of our new logo—and at the center of everything we do—is Christ. He is our life, our hope, our foundation, and our future. Everything flows from Him:

Gospel - We are a people centered on the good news of Jesus Christ that transforms hearts, renews minds, and gives eternal hope. This isn't just our message—it's our life source, the wellspring from which everything else flows.

Community - We are a people committed to walking with one another in love, grace, and mutual encouragement as the family of God. True biblical community isn't just fellowship; it's life-on-life discipleship where we spur one another on toward love and good deeds.

Mission - We are a people sent by God to our neighbors and to the nations to share this life-changing message of salvation. Our mission field starts right here in our community and extends to the ends of the earth.

A Symbol of Deeper Roots

When you see this new mark in the weeks and months ahead, we invite you to think beyond just "new logo." Think deeper roots. Think of the story God has been writing in us over these five years and the even greater story He's calling us into for the future. Think of Christ at the center, of our calling together, and of God's faithfulness to build His church.

This visual identity represents not a departure from who we've been, but a clearer expression of who God has shaped us to become. It's a reminder that while our methods may evolve, our message and mission remain the same.

Looking Forward with Confidence

Five years in, we look back with hearts full of gratitude for all God has done. We look ahead with confidence—not in ourselves, but in the One who has promised to finish what He started in us (Philippians 1:6).

As we step into this next chapter, we're reminded of the psalmist's words in Psalm 145:

"Great is the Lord, and greatly to be praised, and his greatness is unsearchable. One generation shall commend your works to another, and shall declare your mighty acts."

This is our calling: to be a generation that commends God's works to the next, declaring His mighty acts in our community and beyond. Our new visual identity serves as a tangible reminder of this sacred responsibility.

An Invitation to Join the Story

Whether you've been part of Old Town Church from the beginning or you're just discovering us, we invite you to join this ongoing story of God's faithfulness. Come help us build a community where Christ is at the center, where authentic relationships flourish, where hospitality abounds, and where everyone has a part to play in God's mission.

The Lord is gracious and merciful, slow to anger and abounding in steadfast love. His kingdom is an everlasting kingdom, and His dominion endures throughout all generations. As we celebrate five years of His faithfulness, we eagerly anticipate the years ahead, trusting that our best days as a church family are still to come.
