Sunday Gatherings

Gathered worship is at the heart of who we are. Every Sunday we come together to preach the Word, sing, pray, and take communion — not just as a routine, but as a reminder. We gather to be refreshed and re-anchored in the gospel so that we can scatter into the week as people who know what they believe and why it matters.

A Legacy of Old Town

We gather for worship at 10:00am at the old Pix movie theater, located at 147 Oakland Avenue, Rock Hill, SC 29730.

Parking is available next to the building (off of Oakland Ave), behind the building (off of N. Wilson St.), or across the street at the First Bank parking lot.

Questions about Sundays

  • Our worship gatherings typically run about 75–80 minutes. Each week includes singing, Scripture reading, prayer, communion, and a sermon. We preach through whole books of the Bible, so you can expect to hear the text opened up and applied each Sunday. Feel free to participate — but no one will put you on the spot or call attention to you.

  • Come as you are. Wear whatever you're comfortable in — you'll see everything from jeans to button-downs. There's no dress code here.

  • We have first-time guests most Sundays, so you won't be alone. Feel free to arrive a few minutes early and introduce yourself, or slip in quietly and just take it in — either way, you're welcome. If you want to connect before you visit, reach out and we'd love to hear from you.

  • Kids are part of the church, not just a separate program running alongside it. We have OTC Kids (Birth–PreK) available on Sunday mornings, but we also love when families worship together. See our OTC Kids page for more information.

  • Absolutely! Whether you're curious about faith, skeptical, or have had painful experiences with church before, you are genuinely welcome here. We're not trying to pressure you into anything — we just want you to hear the gospel and see what it looks like when people actually try to live by it. Come and see.

Our Liturgy

Old Town Church practices a liturgy that is rooted in the historical practice of the Christian church. Liturgy means “the work of the people” and refers to the way that the elements of a worship service are arranged and fit together.

Every element of our worship gathering is intentional. We don't arrange Sunday mornings randomly — the shape of our service is designed to keep the gospel at the center and move us through it together.

We begin by gathering — coming in from a week of scattered, ordinary life and turning our attention back to God. We sing, pray, and read Scripture together. We open the Word and preach through whole books of the Bible, because we trust that God speaks through Scripture and that it's sufficient for everything we need. We respond to the preached Word by taking communion together as a visible reminder of what Jesus has done and what we anticipate. And we close by being sent back out — reminded that we don't just receive the gospel here, we carry it with us.

We gather to be refreshed and re-anchored. We scatter to live and proclaim.

  • This section includes a welcome, Scripture reading, song of praise, and song of confession.

  • During this portion of the service, we celebrate what God is doing and has done through personal story and a time of giving.

  • At the center of our service is the preached word. We read God’s word and preach God’s word. We seek to set ourselves under Scripture.

  • We respond to the preaching of the word through a time of prayer, communion, and singing songs of praise to the Lord. We conclude our service with a benediction that we read together.
