Sermon Recap: Acts 13:1-44

Hunger for the Gospel of Grace

Acts 13:1-44

In this week's study of Acts, we see a pivotal transition as the church at Antioch, under the direction of the Holy Spirit, sends out Barnabas and Paul on the first intentional missionary journey.

As the church at Antioch sends out the first missionaries, we see that the Gospel is fueled by the unstoppable faithfulness of God. Join us as we look at Acts 13 and discover how Jesus is the fulfillment of every promise God has ever made. It’s a message of hope that moves us from religious performance to the freedom of forgiveness.

Reflection Questions:

  1. In Acts 13:2, the church was worshiping and fasting when the Spirit spoke. How does creating intentional space for prayer and "quiet" change how you hear God’s direction for your life?

  2. Paul recounts how God was faithful to Israel even through their seasons of wandering. Looking back at your own life, where can you see God’s faithfulness even during times when you were distant from Him?

  3. The sermon emphasizes that we are justified (declared righteous) in a way the Law could never achieve. In what areas of your life are you still tempted to rely on your own performance rather than resting in Christ’s finished work?

  4. Who is one person in your sphere of influence—family, workplace, or neighborhood—to whom you can "proclaim forgiveness" by sharing the hope of the Gospel this week?

Songs from Sunday:

  1. Graves into Gardens

  2. King of Kings

  3. Thank You Jesus for the Blood

  4. Hear the Hallelujahs Roar
